Great! You are interested and want to know more...

User Experience Design (UXD) is all about delighting the users and generating a positive emotional response from them after their interaction with a system (web - application, website, product, etc.)

How do I know so much about Users?
Though I studied Chemical Engineering for my Bachelors Degree, I never liked it. I wanted to do something creative and exciting, so I decided to study design from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi. During those 2 exciting years, I worked relentlessly to understand the process of designing for Users. After lot of assignments, projects, and workshops, I was granted my Graduate degree in Industrial Design.
After my Graduation, I worked as Design Consultant for IGNOU, New Delhi where I spent 6 months in understanding rural design arts in India and roamed across India - Goa, Kerala, Jharkhand, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh. During this period, I did not only see these artisans working in real context but interviewed and filmed them (yes, filmed using a movie and still cameras) to understand their design process. The purpose of this exercise was to create educational materials for IGNOU. When I started working on designing instructional CD ROMs consisting these findings, that was the time when I first realized the importance of User Interfaces and their significance for users. To learn it better I moved on to a different company.

I got to work with one of the best companies in User Experience - Human Factors International. This was the company where I learned the finer details of UX, processes, and methodologies. I worked on exciting and innovative projects there such as designing 100 dollar laptop for Intel called "XO", a big Web App for Blue Cross Sheild of California, and a complex Desktop App for Modular Mining.

After that, I moved to Keane and worked for State Street, KAMCO Australia, Spectra, and currently working on Wells Fargo Web Applications.

The trip has been exciting so far with exciting intellectuals around me.

What else do I do?
I am very active on Twitter, Facebook, Blogger, and discssion forums for UXD. Other than work I also love making short movies, cooking, and watching movies.
